미국 틸러슨 국무장관 광복절 축하 메세지

틸러슨 미 국무장관은 8월15일 국경일을 기념하는 한국인들에게 미국을 대신해 축하의 뜻을 전한다고 밝혔다.

광복절을 맞아 한국인들에게 문재인 대통령 당선에 대해서도 축하의 인사를 전한다.

미국과 한국의 동맹 관계는 철통 같다. 양국의 강력하고 역사적인 인적 교류 역시 존중한다.

아울러 두 나라가 평화와 안보 증진에 함께 하는 가운데, 광복절은 민주적 가치를 지지하는 두 나라 간 유대를 보여준다.

한미 양국이 앞으로 전진하는 과정 속에서 동맹 관계가 지속되기를 기대한다

On behalf of the United States of America, congratulations to the people of the Republic of Korea as you celebrate your national day on August 15th. 

On the anniversary of your independence, we also congratulate the people of the Republic of Korea on the election of President Moon Jae-in. We reaffirm the ironclad alliance between the United States and the Republic of Korea and honor our strong and historic people-to-people ties. This holiday also marks the bond our nations share in our support for democratic values, as we stand together to advance peace and security. 

We look forward to the continued alliance between our nations as we move forward. I send our best wishes to the people of the Republic of Korea as you celebrate this occasion.
